Hurdles and Standards For Christian Authors
Going through Michael Hyatt’s Blogs (he’s the CEO of Thomas Nelson), I found two gems. The first is the five hurdles that an author has to pass through to get published at Thomas Nelson, and the second is the book and author standards that they use.
The Standards of Thomas Nelson
Both of these are highly interesting because they give an inside look at the internal workings of the largest publisher of Christian books. In particular their use of Philippians 4:8 as part of their standards was inspiring to me as an unpublished author.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy… meditate on these things.
Their is a lot to inspire us there—and a lot to live up to!
Note: I now have a new percentage progress graph in the side-bar. This doesn’t mean that I will stop giving updates over here, but at least I won’t feel the need to micro-blog them now.
