2009 Reformation Day Faire!
I want to make known to all my Missouri and Illinois blog readers a festival that celebrates the reformation. It is Providence Church’s Reformation Day Faire, held the weekend of October 23rd and 24th (2009) near Peoria, Illinois.
The festival this year celebrates the work of God in and through John Calvin.
The keynote speaker will be Douglas Bond, author of the Crown & Covenant series, as well as a new fiction book called “The Betrayal: A Novel on John Calvin“.
In addition, two pastors will be speaking: James McDonald from Providence Church, and Marcus Serven from Covenant Family Church.
The faire will also feature famed Celtic musician Charlie Zahm, who will be performing both days.
So come and visit, and dress in a modest period costume! There will be great teaching, highland games, a boffer war, historical dancing, and psalm singing.
The St. Andrews Olde Towne Square will feature candle making, printing, book binding, an armory, stained glass, soap making, woodworking, sketching, and weaving.
We’ll be there on Saturday, God willing, and so prick your ears for my son playing his bagpipe. We might even be performing a few songs as our entire band, who knows?
A good time for one and all!
DOUGLAS BOND, MY BROTHER’S ENGLISH TEACHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s great, Israle! I was able to talk with Doug quite a bit at the Reformation Day Faire, and he would be a fantastic English teacher.
Thanks for stopping by…
Wow! I just found this blog and saw this post. Mr. Douglas Bond is my English and History teacher. The URL leads to the school website.
Oh, duh, my brother already said that. Perhaps I should read the comments already posted before posting my own!
No problem, Noah! Glad you stopped by! I had a great time talking with Doug, and you’re very lucky to have him as your teacher.
