We’re Going To Our First Writing Conference!
No, we’re not going to the writing conference at Mt. Hermon, as much as I tried to figure out how to get there (what a beautiful setting). In the end, I had to admit that it was too tight of timing for me to finish up my book by mid-March to have it ready for critiquing and presenting.
So where to? We are happily planning to attend, Lord willing, the American Christian Fiction Writers’ Annual Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota in September. For our family, this is a great place for visiting, too, as I grew up in the Twin Cities metro area, and we still have lots of family and friends there.
So not only will my daughter and I be able to learn great stuff about writing, meet lots of writers (and maybe a few agents and editors), but we will also hopefully get some professional feedback on all of our hard work.
If you are an aspiring writer and have never been to a conference, I would encourage you to attend once you get your book into presentable form. Randy Ingermanson has lots of good advice on this topic at his blog, so take a look here and here!

Funny. I went down the same mental route just a few weeks ago.
